ALS, 1895 August 28 : at sea from Victoria, Canada, to Jack (?).

Clemens writes on his way back from a lecture in Victoria Canada, that he will be celebrating his rorrespondent's birthday. Clemens is writing a poem for the occasion and includes a copy of the poem in progress. "You are a naturalist & I am gradually grinding out a poem for such of the tribe as are interested in the fauna of Australia ..."
